Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Services
Service Definition
Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Services is a structured program of skilled treatment services for adults, children and adolescents experiencing a Substance Use Disorder and is provided in a concentrated manner for two or more consecutive hours per day to groups of individuals in a nonresidential setting while enabling an individual in recovery to continue their recovery therapies following successful detox, on a part-time yet intensive schedule, designed to accommodate work and family life.
Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Services is provided to members who do not require the intensive level of care of inpatient, residential, or partial hospitalization services, but requires more intensive services than outpatient services.
